Carlos Migoya Jr. founded the firm in 2006. Carlos’ practice concentrates on criminal defense and civil/commercial litigation. Prior to establishing the firm, Carlos honed his skills as criminal defense advocate while working with the Colorado Public Defender system. After leaving that office, Carlos briefly moved to Miami, Florida and worked with a highly respected commercial litigation firm where he assisted with representing large commercial clients in complex litigation involving contractual disputes, employment law, intellectual property and class action law.

Carlos received his J.D. from the University of Denver, College of Law in 2004. While in law school, he was president of the Hispanic Law Student Association and active in moot court, including having been a finalist in the DU/CU Trial Advocacy Competition and a quarter-finalist for the Daniel S. Hoffman Trial Advocacy Competition. Additionally, Carlos was the recipient of an American Jurisprudence Award for Lawyering in Spanish. Carlos received a B.A. in history from Florida State University in 2000.

Carlos is admitted to practice law in Colorado and in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.

Additionally, Carlos is a member of the American Association of Justice (formerly ATLA), the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and the American, Colorado, and Denver Bar Associations.

Recently, Carlos has become a member of the Wheels of Justice Leadership Council, coordinating fundraising and corporate/law firm sponsorship for a recreational cycling team participating annually in the Courage Classic, a charity cycling event benefitting The Children's Hospital Foundation. Carlos also enjoys occasionally taking on pro-bono cases representing juveniles facing criminal charges.
